Utility trenching is starting at the Spyglass site in Packwood, Washington. The site is essentially solid granite with thin soil cover so digging is a challenge. This is the first of many planned detonations to get the project underway.

Modernism Week 2019 - 2/20/2019

We traveled to Palm Springs last week to attend the gala opening of our project, the 2019 West Elm House. 300 people enjoyed salmon flown in from Seattle and the delightful crowds indicative of Palm Springs hospitality. The house looked terrific and kudos go out to all the design, construction and sales team. Photos to follow.

Rosita’s Opens in Utah - 10/1/2018

After a big push by the contractor and design teams the restaurant is now open for business. This project was a personal dream for Paul Allen, who wanted to recreate the Southwestern food he enjoyed while creating Microsoft with Bill Gates. The original fruit market is the perfect architectural shell for the rustic simple foods prepared in the kitchen. Stop by on your way to Zion National Park!

Dallas Apartment featured in Interior Design - 8/1/2018

While employed at Olson Kundig, Paul Schlachter was the project manager for this design recently featured in Interior Design Magazine. Paul worked with architect, Tom Kundig, on the architecture and interior designer, Emily Summers, for the interiors. The result is a balanced mixture of masculine and feminine design.

Omaha house featured on Decoist - 12/11/2018

An extensive remodel in the Fairacres neighborhood of Omaha, the house serves as a gallery to the many faceted styles of artist Jun Kaneko. Works on paper, sculpture, glass castings and paintings cover the walls and floors of the house surrounding the homeowner with artistic inspiration.

The house was completed while Paul Schlachter was employed at Olson Kundig where he served as the Project Manager.

TESTIMONIALS

In my experience, a client is fortunate to find an architect who truly excels in more than one of these areas (creative design, meticulous craftsmanship, and efficient administration), and Paul is at the top of the list in all of them. On top of that he is a great pleasure to work with: no drama, listens to the client, thoughtful and friendly. He has our highest recommendation.

Paul was an absolute pleasure to work with on our project! We were amazed at how accessible and approachable he was for someone with his talent and experience, and for such a "small" project as our backyard shed. He was patient, thoughtful, and supportive throughout the whole process, helping bridge communication between us and the contractors. We will definitely work with Paul on any future projects and recommend him to anyone!

Paul helped design our farmhouse in Ellensburg and he made the process an absolute joy. He would pick three or four design products (all with our tastes in mind) and I would select the perfect one for us. I have total trust in him because of that experience.
